Ambient Temperature is a gameplay mod released for Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas that calculates an air temperature and humidity based on regional weather statistics, displaying it to the player via the heads-up-display and game menus. Although it has no impact on gameplay on its own, patches were written for the hunger/thirst/sleep mod Imp's More Complex Needs (warmer temperatures affected dehydration rates), the power armor overhaul Powered Power Armor (air temperature affected power armor overheating), and the weather overhaul Nevada Skies (temperature and humidity data were used to determine weather effects like rain, snow, or clouds).
The mod HUD Extended, shown in the image to the left, featured a readout for detailed weather statistics.
